What do you do when a pregnant client’s cholesterol comes back high?

It’s a question many healthcare professionals face — and one that isn’t always straightforward to answer. In this evidence-based webinar, you’ll explore how hyperlipidemia in pregnancy may influence outcomes such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and fetal growth, and what this means for your clinical decision-making.

You’ll learn how to interpret lipid results with greater confidence, identify when levels may signal increased risk, and understand when further investigation or referral is warranted.

We’ll also explore current clinical perspectives on screening, monitoring, and the role of multidisciplinary care — so you can feel more confident supporting both mother and baby during this critical window of the first 1000 days.

Recognise the Hidden Signs

Learn how to interpret lipid markers in pregnancy, including LDL, HDL, and triglycerides, within the broader context of cardiometabolic risk, insulin resistance, inflammation, and pre-existing dyslipidemia.

Develop confidence in identifying when elevations reflect normal physiological adaptation and when they warrant closer monitoring or intervention.

Understand Fat Quality and Lipid Physiology

Explore how saturated fats, polyunsaturated fats, monounsaturated fats, soluble fiber, and refined carbohydrates influence lipid metabolism.

Understand how pregnancy-driven hormonal and metabolic changes alter lipid transport and storage, and how dietary fat quality can meaningfully modify maternal lipid profiles.

Implement Evidence-Based Nutrition Interventions

Gain practical, evidence-based strategies to improve lipid profiles in pregnancy, including plant-forward and Mediterranean-style patterns, targeted fat substitution, and increased soluble fiber.

Review the evidence for supplements such as plant sterols and omega-3 fatty acids, and clarify their role in antenatal care.

What You’ll Learn

In this free expert-led webinar, you will strengthen your ability to support pregnant clients presenting with hyperlipidemia.

In this webinar, you will discover:

  • Interpret lipid profiles in pregnancy with greater confidence, recognising expected patterns and potential abnormalities.
  • Identify when elevated lipid levels may signal increased maternal or fetal risk, including associations with gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and altered fetal growth.
  • Differentiate between physiological and clinically significant hyperlipidemia across the course of pregnancy.
  • Determine when further investigation or specialist referral is warranted in the context of abnormal lipid results.
  • Understand current clinical approaches to screening and monitoring hyperlipidemia in pregnancy, including the role of multidisciplinary care.
